The small Garden Island has one of the largest senior softball organizations on the Hawaiian islands. For its size, the Kauai Senior Citizen’s Softball Association hosts 14 teams playing from January through July, culminating with the State Tournament in August. The standard playing ball is a 14-inch softball—Hawaii standard ball. Eligible players range from age 60 to 75+. Each team can field one player between the ages of 55 to 59 for each game. Female players are eligible starting at age 55. Games are on Saturday mornings on fields across Kauai.
